What remains of the Roman Amphitheatre of Assisi is located in a district called Porta Perlici. There is so little left of it that the former Arena has been converted into a garden.

History and description
The Roman Amphitheatre of Assisi was built in the 1st half of the 1st century AD. It consists of two rows of stands, only part of which has been preserved.
That the monument was elliptical in shape can be deduced from the walls of the adjoining green garden that occupies the former Arena, and the medieval houses built in the cavea.
The Porta Perlici used to be one of the eight access gates to the city.
